Good for Derek! Kudos to him! Chess is not your usual sport. It takes real intelligence and determination that is put into use to really make through a tournament. I’ve been playing chess since the 3rd grade when a friend taught it to me. I may not always have won back then but later I the chess club captain in my school. And only a few years back, I acted as coach to my chess club in the school where I taught. I always tell my students to always have the desire to make the plays until the end of the game. Always have foresight. It is really tough. So again, congrats, Derek! Leave a Reply. |
